For its Fall-Winter 2026 collection, Quantum Attachment, We11done explores romantic entanglement in cinema. From the quiet longing of Wong Kar-wai’s elegiac period romance In the Mood for Love to the melancholic devotion of Jim Jarmusch’s Gothic fantasy Only Lovers Left Alive and the restless intensity of Todd Haynes’s glam-rock fantasia Velvet Goldmine, charged relationships emerge from separation, restraint, and unresolved desire. Intimacy persists across distance, as one life profoundly shapes another, a dynamic reflected in the collection through the textured interplay of structured tailoring and soft pieces.
Quantum Attachment builds tension through the repetitive layering of everyday items such as sweatshirts, quarter-zips, and oversized knit belts, creating forms that feel entirely new and unexpected. Hybrid pieces suggest multiple garments at once: hoodies are spliced with utility vests and anoraks, while one-shoulder tops are layered with long-sleeve counterparts. Maxi skirts feature tuck details that evoke a wrapped T-shirt, and checked flannel shirt dresses include extra sleeves that tie at the shoulders or waist, suggesting the bonds that hold relationships together. Colors, too, are applied in overlapping layers, with time-washed neutrals lending a subtle palimpsest effect that deepens the sense of romantic history.
Like old lovers with stories spanning eras, Quantum Attachment is shaped by what has been gathered, worn, and remembered. Outerwear is treated with sandwashing and brushed bleaching to create a vintage mood, while sweatsuits echo the effect with trompe l’oeil printing and dirty-wash treatments. A reworked vintage series of patchwork T-shirts and basketball shorts combines different materials, colors, and prints, marked by deliberate upside-down details. Glam-rock–coded exaggerations, including fur trimming and hood designs inspired by big hair, appear on casual silhouettes. Leather frame bags finished with antique gold–tone hardware and coin purses worn as necklaces heighten the collection’s sense of tender nostalgia.
We11done’s latest campaign brings together the cinematic gaze of photographer John Yuyi, whose practice spans visual art and fashion photography to explore the individual self in contemporary society, and the sensibility of stylist
Ai Kamoshita, known for balancing bold experimentation with quiet elegance. Together, they transform the collection’s visuals into a cinematic style narrative.
